At Antenna Airborne Research, we are dedicated to conducting testing of consumer amateur radio antenna products to present reliable results to the amateur radio community while enhancing knowledge about antenna designs and installations.
Manufacturers are quick to highlight VSWR. This does not mean the antenna is worth your investment! Factors include materials, design, construction and installation.
Empirical measurements (real time) of antennas are documented using sophisticated drones equipped to fly through antenna fields. They fly specific flight patterns carrying calibrated signal generators. Portable spectrum analyzer's are attached to antennas under test.
Antenna modeling using sophisticated software and comparing results to manufacturers specs.
Spec reviews utilize publicly available manufacturer's specifications on the product, usually referred to as the "User Manual or User Guide". This can include photos and drawings of the product, a description of the complete product, its components and connection materials. When the physical antenna or antenna product is available we will include empirical field testing. All reports are the opinions of experts in the field of amateur radio and commercial antennas.
To produce honest, data driven reports on antennas produced for amateur radio by manufacturers. To test and compare their specs against the "True Spec", so your money is well spent on what you decide to purchase based on accurate information.
